About Me

I am currently teaching 4th Grade. This is my ninth year teaching Elementary students. I obtained my bachelor's, and a Masters in Science of Education from CBU.

This school year, I focused on teaching ELA.

I had the opportunity to create more relevant learning experiences for the 4th graders.

Why Do I Teach?

I teach because it is my God-given purpose. I am thankful for the opportunity to be in the United States of America, and I want to give back to the country that provided so much opportunity for me and my family. My way to give back is facilitating a love for learning in every student.

I see the value that every child represents within their families, and the great value they represent in the society at large.

I long to see each student gain the skills to live their purpose. I want to see them thrive through challenges, I long to see them solve simple and complex problems as well. I think children are natural innovators, and they have a natural talent to simply think outside the box. I love the simplicity in which they see the world, and how impress they are with creation.

John Dewey influenced the development of my teaching practices early in my career. He was an an Educational Reformer and one of the philosophies he stood for was pragmatism.

What is Pragmatism?

Pragmatism is a philosophical tradition that views language and thought as tools for prediction, problem solving, and action, rather than describing, representing, or mirroring reality. Pragmatists contend that most philosophical topics—such as the nature of knowledge, language, concepts, meaning, belief, and science—are all best viewed in terms of their practical uses and successes.

In other words: This is the heart of experimentation mental reflection arriving at conceptions in terms of conceivable confirmatory and disconfirmatory circumstances—a method hospitable to the generation of explanatory hypotheses, and conducive to the employment and improvement of verification.
